Elaine Anderson-Wood is delighted to be a part-time teacher at eNDVR after recently retiring from MCPS. Elaine is truly passionate about engaging students of all ages in thought-provoking, hands-on, educational experiences. Elaine’s love for photography, poetry, the natural sciences, music and drama are evident in almost everything she does. Over the course of 25 years, she has taught in both public and private school situations, experiencing a variety of educational levels (preschool through high school). She particularly enjoys working with multi-age groups, but has enjoyed Title I., Gifted and Talented, and regular classroom settings as well. Elaine is certified in all subjects at the K-8 level. She is certified at the secondary level (5-12), with a focus in broad field social science. She holds minors in English, Asian Studies and Sociology.
During part of her career, Elaine was a private flute instructor, taught parenting classes and worked at an Entomology lab. Elaine and her husband own Blue Mountain Bed and Breakfast, where she enjoys blogging, interior decorating, gardening, cooking and teaching guests about Missoula’s local flora, fauna and history. Elaine is a certified tour guide with the State of Montana, which comes in handy both at the B&B and on eNDVR field trips! If you don’t see her in the classroom or at the B&B, she is likely spending time with her family and fuzzy friends. Elaine and Brady enjoy being foster/adoptive parents. They have both a son and a daughter and a menagerie of cats, dogs and equines!
