Robotics / Engineering Camp (ages 5-14)
June 12, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
In this camp, we take lego engineering to the next level. Students will build actual lego robots that move, sense and react! We offer two levels of robotics training, Lego WeDos and Lego Mindstorms. Lego WeDos help young, novice programmers (ages 5-9 or by ability) build and test simple robots. These robots are easy to build and fun to watch, helping students to feel successful about their robotics abilities. Lego Mindstorms (ages 9+ or by ability) are more advanced robotics that move, sense and perform complex autonomous tasks. Students will complete the Lego Mindstorms Space Challenge, giving them a practical understanding of most middle school math concepts. We will also spend some time each day outside and unplugged, playing robot games and honing our programming skills with movement activities. This camp is run by the eNDVR First Tech Challenge team and coaches. Our team competes in robotics tournaments across Montana. Their robot performs challenges and races other robots in a fast paced battle arena. The FTC students will demonstrate their robot to younger students and talk about their experiences in robotics competitions. Students in this camp will learn about competition robotics in the Jr. First Lego League (ages 5-9), the First Lego League (ages 5-14) and the First Tech Challenge (ages 12-18).
There is a $50 non-refundable deposit for this summer camp.
