Montana Mysteries (Ages 8-12+)

September 8, 2015 @ 1:30 pm - 2:20 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

$40.00

Led by: Elaine Anderson-Wood

Meets on: Tuesdays from 1:30-2:20RegisterNow

It’s time to dig in and dredge up some history as we journey back in time to explore area ghost towns.  You’ll learn about the precious minerals that brought prospectors to Montana in the first place.  You’ll also “meet” some mighty interesting characters.  From stage coach robbers and Vigilantes, to Montana’s early Chinese populations, you’ll be in for a wild ride.  Part of the fun will be in digging up some of your own Montana mysteries while you engage in individual reading and writing projects.  And yes, there will be time for some ghost stories, crafts, cooking, rock and mineral identification, music and more!  This class is a wonderful extension of  Eat Your Way Around the World.  It will give students the opportunity to explore Montana gold camp history, geology and geography in greater depth.
