Get ready for some board game fun! Last session we talked a bit about what different kinds of games are out there and we shared our favorite games, but we didn’t get much into making our own games and we just barely got a taste of each game we played. For Innovate session, I would like to focus a bit more on inventing our own games and maybe even coming up with one new amazing game as a class! But there will still be lots of board game playing fun. I was thinking some of the older kids might want to focus on mastering some of the harder games that they really enjoyed in the past, rather than just barely getting a taste and then moving on to another game the next week. This can be a fun class for a variety of ages and there will be different levels of board games available to play- anywhere from Candy Land to strategy games and everything in between. There are a lot of great skills and learning to be had while playing board games…so of course, some “sneaky learning” will be happening as we have our board game fun. The best way to tell if your younger child is ready for this class is if he or she will sit down to play a board game at home. Parents are welcome to stay in this class to play with us, learn some new games, or help younger children.
