What’s better than building a robot? Building a COMPETITION robot! That’s right, robotics is a team sport! Students in 4th-8th grade can compete on our First Lego League robotics team. This team has two competitions in January and February of 2018. Students ages 12-18 can join us for our First Tech Challenge robotics team. This team will compete 1-2 times in the fall of 2017 and 1-2 times in the spring of 2018. Students who join the team this spring will have the opportunity to learn how to build a robot without the pressure of an upcoming tournament. The class is free, but students will need to show us that they REALLY want to join! Here’s what we need:

Last year’s team members will just need to sign up for the class or let us know that they plan to be on the team in the fall.

New students can submit an application to join the team by submitting one of the following:

1. A one minute video about why they want to join a competition robotics team.

2. A one page paper telling us why they want to join a competition team Our team accepts students of all abilities, so if your student is unable to complete one of these requirements, please let us know another way that we can get them to commit to the team.

Students will also be required to participate in fundraising activities throughout the year in order to pay for robot kits, practice space, and competition fees.
