This class is designed to help those who love science, but may sometimes struggle with the math concepts behind it. The goal is for students to engage in a variety of interesting experiments and hands-on opportunities. Math and science will be integrated to a large extent with the hope that meaningful and fun activities will begin to turn a person’s math phobia into something closer to math topia! If you already love math, that’s great too. We’ll review a wide range of math and science concepts through games, experiments, observation and discussion. Science topics will revolve around eNDVR’s current theme, the season and student interest. Each session will contain a mixture of chemistry, physics and life and earth science concepts that pertain to the specific scientific branches. Winter months will likely be weighted more heavily on concepts that can be explored indoors, while spring will cover botany and ornithology, for example.

Scientific branches and topics covered throughout the year will include: aerodynamics, astronomy, biology, botany, chemical compounds and reactions, ecology, electricity, entomology, general classification, geology, magnetism, meteorology, oceanography, ornithology, paleontology, zoology and others.

Mathematical concepts will be reviewed in isolation as well as through science projects and will include logical reasoning, probability, problem solving, measurement, graphing, integers, fractions, basic algebra and geometry.
